  I am very disappointed in this urgent care. Ive used them before and wasn't real pleased with what happened but its been almost 2 years so I decided to give it another shot (I'll briefly tell you why at the end of this story). I brought my daughter in on July 6th, 2017 because it was after hours and the registrar told me that our insurance required referrals from our primary dr. I knew that wasn't the case because the only referral that is needed is for a specialist. Urgent care is not considered a specialist. She never even called our insurance company. She just looked at the card and called us back to the front office window to tell us they couldn't see my child. I called our insurance company and told them what happened and they verified with me that we did NOT need a referral from our primary dr. to go to urgent care. We just have to pay a higher copay at urgent care but no referral is needed. They told me to have her call the provider number for verification. I asked the registrar if she could call our insurance company for verification and she rolled her eyes at me and took my insurance card as if I was putting her out of her way to do that. I looked up on the web site to see if I was out of line asking her to do that...and on Options web site it says that she is "proficient in insurance verification". My husband got upset at the way she acted and he told her that we were leaving....so we did and got help for our daughter elsewhere with no problem. Its very frustrating to have a sick child after hours and feel like someone doesn't want to help. Its a very helpless feeling. I feel like Options was very rude and very uncaring and we were really upset to have been turned away. I will tell you that I went there 2 years ago and was treated for shingles (I never used the prescription cause I KNEW that was not what I had because I didn't even have a rash of any sort...the script bottle for Valacyclovir HCL still sits on my computer desk unused) and I ended up in the hospital the next day for a severe kidney infection and septicemia. A simple urine test would have told them what was going on. I went from bad at the urgent care to worse in less than 24 hours. My flank hurting and high fever should have been a sure sign of what was going on. That was what I went in complaining about. But the dr. went with shingles even with no rash. The dr told me that sometimes you have the fever and flank pain before the rash appears. I asked her if it could be a kidney infection and she told me no because it was too high for my kidneys. The dr. at the hospital told me that the pain is exactly where my kidneys are. Never again! Twice was enough!
